Christianity simply
means Christ-like. Christ Jesus is the word of God, so to be like Christ our
life must be transformed, modeled, structured, conformed and patterned by the
word of God. Is Jesus the word of God? Yes! John 1:1-2, 14 says, In the
beginning was the word and the word was with God, and the word was God. All
things were made by him,,,,, in him was life; and the life was the light of
men. Verse 14 says, and the word was
made flesh and dwelt among us,,,,
To understand the true
mining of life and who the Almighty God is, you engage in the study of the
bible, because it is the word of God to man. The word is the manual script of
man handed over to him by God to guide him in becoming like Christ. It is the
secured foundation of Christian to stand just as every building needs a solid
foundation to stand. And every passage
of the bible testify of Christ which is the life that everyone want to have in
abundance {john 5:39; 6:63;14:6}
WHY READ AND STUDY THE
WORD OF GOD
1. The word is the
solution to all life issues and circumstances: Every
issues and challenges has their remedies in the word of God. Jesus
says, I am the way, the truth, and the life,,,,,, {John 14:6}. In same John
8:12, Jesus says,,,, I am the light of the world: he that follow me shall not
walk in darkness,,, following Christ means studying His word, and that
act eliminate every form of darkness in your life. Remember that, ignorance,
problems, pains, sickness, failure, stagnation, evil, death among
others represent darkness in your life, and you need the word to overcome all
of them.
2. The word is the
source of Eternal life: Jesus is the embodiment
of Life. John 6: 50-51 says, this is the
bread which cometh from heaven, that a man eat of this bread, and not
die,,,,,,, if any man it of this bread he shall live forever. Jesus says, I am the way, the truth, and the life,,,,,, {John 14:6}. The
only reason Christ came is for us to have life in abundance. Acts
4:12,,, Neither is there salvation in any other, there no other name,,,,, by
which we can be saved. Whether you believes it or not, the truth is
that, God's word is a sure foundation and can't change {Mathew 24:35, Isaiah
40:8}
3. Through God's word
faith is activated: My dear, until your faith is
activated serving God doesn't make sense, and you will fail to enjoy the reward
of service. Without faith it is
impossible to please God and consequently getting anything from God {Hebrew
11:6}. Everything about Christianity is faith, it is by faith you serve and
obey God. It is by faith that you can believe that you can do all things
through Christ that strengthen you {Philippians 4:13}. Now understand
that faith
comes by hearing and by the word of God {Roman 10:17}. So to get faith
such that can move every mountain in your life, study the word not prayer.
4. To create our world:
Just
as God create the world through the word, same way we can create our world
through His word. Remember, John 1:1-2, says, In the beginning was the word and
the word was with God, and the word was God. All things were made by him,,,. Until
you discover your word in the light of His word your world will remain at
attention. Nothing work in your life until you discover, your own word in His
word. You are created for a purpose, that purpose can only be manifested
through the revelation of His word. Remember manifestation is the mother of
revelation. You can only start living when you know who you are {Proverb
6:23; psalm 119:105}.
5. The word equip us to
grow spiritually: No one can grow spiritually without
constant abiding in the word. 1 peter 2:2 says, as newborn babes, desire
the sincere milk of the word of God, that you may grow thereby. If you
can't stay a whole day without eating physical food, because you need to live;
then you must eat God's word daily to live a healthy Christian life. Jesus
says,,, man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeded out
of the mouth of God {Mathew 4:4}.
6. The word gives us freedom
from sin and the devil: Our freedom as
Christian is secured through the word. John 4: 32-34 says, and you shall know the
truth, and the truth shall make you free,,, for whosoever committeth
sin is the servant of sin. The psalmist says, thy word have I hide in my heart
that I may not sin against thee {Psalm 119:9,11}. Until you engage the
word you will keep on complaining of how God has abandon you and how Christianity
is not working.
7. The word is the
source of wealth and prosperity: Psalm 1:2-3
states that a man that meditates on God's word every day and night, shall
be like a tree planted by the rivers side, that brings forth fruit in
season and out of season, and shall proper in whatsoever he does. Joshua
1:8 says,,, the book of law shall not depart from your mouth, but shall
meditate in it day and night ,,,,,for it shall make thy way prosperous. Others

false teaching: Evaluate every teaching from the word of
God, let bible be the basis of your judgment of all truth. { 1John 4:1, Mathew 24:24-26}.
9. The word leads
us to salvation: {
2 timothy 3:16-17, Ephesians 2:1-10, Isaiah 53:6, Roman 5:8}
10. The word supply the
holy spirit: The word activate the inducement of the
Holy spirit {John 3:6-8, 6:36, 44, 63-65, Proverb 2: 6-7}.
Conclusively, the word
is truth, way and life, it is the basis of the creation, it is the basis of living
and the source of knowledge. Hosea 4:6 says, my people perish for the
lack of knowledge, because thou hast rejected knowledge,,,,,, seeing thou hast
forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy Children. So get
the word and get the knowledge of life.
