Prayer for spiritual growth should be the primary things you settle first as a Christian. To get God's blessing and every other thing you are seeking for (seeking God's hand), you must seek to know him (seeking God's heart).
God's has everything you are looking for but he wants to be sure if he can trust you with that thing you are seeking for. The first step is to seek his heart and to know him more. Mathew 6:33: Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.
